I definitely went for that effect, but it did also fall in place after the first letter. So..both? Haha if you know what I mean. These letters did assist that technique for sure. I've tried it with some letters and it won't work as smooth. Thanks homie
I think my own biggest fault is that I put my letters too close together. I admire how you always have really good spacing. I think sometimes I try to force flow too much, instead of just letting it happen. I have been obsessed with this thing I call "confluence of line" which is lines in my work that coincide, and using that to your advantage. I wonder if I am pushing that too hard to the point it hurts structure. I look at your shit and think I need to space mine out a bit more. Not biting at all. Just influence. (Confluence of line is the same thing you did with the slanted leg of your "R" and the bottom left of the "U", for instance). Also, nearly done with your exchange, which will lead to the second one. Asked SEVS Crew to get down. So you might get a few things from them too. Excited to do more for ya.
Appreciate you 100 man! Honestly this one I was really trying to stretch it out and let some negative space show through. I was unhappy with the letters overall because I just made them so darn small on the sideways sticker it was a pain and couldnt do too much with a fill. I hear you on that line thing you were talking about. I pay a lot of attention to my angles and bar widths and stuff to where I feel like my pieces end up lacking funkiness since I’m trying to adapt to some artificial set of rules in my own head haha. That’s why I’m always trying to do something different I guess, because I literally get tired of myself haha, and need a good group of people like yourself and others to trade styles and ideas with.
I like Watchawant's crispy piece, but EBA's addition of Mount Doom and Sauron's eye made my day. EBA got my vote.
