^^^ Your extension/add-ons are way off. Letter proportions are not good. The right side of the W got way skinnier for no reason. The E is all out off wack with those extensions. The D looks like an O. The W has uneven sides. The I looks weird with the right side looking like an E. The N didn't look too bad, until you added that weird arrow looking thing on the bottom. Simplify your letters. You've got some idea of what you're doing. Focus on letter structure right now.
thanks I was just trying something outside my comfort zone but I will work on it apriciate your comment
^^^ If you kept the letters really basic without all those pointy corners they'd look better. Don't do the Zs angled with the bottom bars going up and the pointy ends. Keep it basic for now.
Fizz try to keep your bars consistent it helps loads, the f is a lot bigger than the Z's Any thoughts on this? I definitely fucked the O up lol.
@Fizz i think that looks a little better. Personally i don't like the "I" it kind of looks like a bone (not sure if that's what you're going for, maybe it was). I would try a lower case i. Also notice how there's a gap between your F and the rest. You kind of used black to fill in those gaps between the IZZ. Maybe try to get your letters a little bit tighter using bars. Keep it up though, practice and crits help. I've been struggling to get it down. I feel like my K and the rest of the letters don't quite match probably cause soe are all round... bars bars bars Sorry.. I can't sleep... I'll shut up now
I am thinking of changing my name to something that is smoother, but for now I am going to keep at it...My main problem right now is the transition from F to the i. Thanks for the tips..I am about to start another one so I will work on it.
@Goomba I used to write slick years back. I pretty shit back then but ill PM you some flicks... in terms of your letters, they look decent. 1st one: make sure to keep all your letters the same height for now. with your C, make sure to make it a consistent width around the entire thing. for the K, make sure the entire thing looks solid. the top bar on it is too skinny and doesnt really work. 2nd: most of the extensions there dont really belong.. just tone them down a bit 3rd: they look nice, just be sure to think about where your extensions are going. try keep it a little more simple, have a mess around
