You have a big problem with bar width consistency. Its skinny on the id but fat on the zo. You bars for every letter have to be of equal width or it will look off. Keep practicing dude, i still have problems with proportions myself and ive been working at it for years. Keep everything uniform bro, thats key, extensions, structure and flow should be uniform, thats how fonts are made by people, one letter is always similar to the others, they use uniform structure and serifs or sans serif that make up each letter. Take this into consideration when youre trying to find style. For example, Think: does this R have the same leg or kick as the K?, find the similarities of each letter because some letters are similar in structure it might be a similar curve the letters have for example. Utilize that as much as you can.
Thanks, definitely something I struggle with. Still practicing straight letter in the books. But this is good to keep in mind, thanks for the advice
@SpawnCamp draw a base line and a top line and practice making your letters evenly fit. Grid paper could also help you gauge some letter scaling. Broke because you know... I am.
I follow that question with, why ibuprofen is anorexic about crits , you keep vomiting bro lol jk. 4real dont use lined paper, its your enemy.
way better. except for that G, if you had just copied the keyboard G it would have flowed. draw it exactly like this. G
I'd agree with Asohle. I tend to draw out guidelines for reference to try to keep my letters the same height and width. And Gum is on point with keeping consistency with the style in the letters also. Its got to flow right to look right. Get up and stay safe.
Smoke needs some nail clippers asap. I hope youre not finger popping jennifer with those fingers bro lol.
lmfao good catch smh Oh look im using lined paper haha im such a hypocrite. Anyone have a tip on how to shape the Y nd D to bend like (
There are no writers in my area so I can't get any educated opinions for my sketches. Let me get some constructive criticism on what's right and what I'm doing wrong
Yo that shit looks like straight graffiti creator fonts. Mindgem really fucked up with making that site... Granted, Namer1 came from that forum... So it's not all bad. Y'all ever find shit in your book that you just can't remember doing or what it was gonna say when finished? I got a buncha half done sketches and idk where they came from @zoup try something like this?? I'm just fucking around on my phone but you get the gist yeah?
Doesn't seem like a lot people on the toy blackbook thread. You guys think the sketches I posted qualify for the regular black book thread? I just want some people with experience to let me know what I could be doing better
Yeah do the letters that you made in the first piece without the extra little add-ons and shit and just keep it simple for a while. And no, your posts will get deleted out of the main blackbook thread Some flicks of a friend's BB for the chat. RIP KING FEVER
More. Maybe it'll inspire some of y'all. Kedr is the big homie too, just got to get my ass out of this rehab so we can paint sometime together
No do not !! we active but what we tell you. you wont like. you need to strip every thing extra off and learn to keep your structure the same width every where and letter uniformity , name and letter weight .all factors. Befor extentions . not say8ng not to have fun but it ahould be like at least 70 %practice shit u dont want to do and 30% funk . Edit : A quick work sketch for the floyd battle most likely redraw all of it and change the o and possibly the d . Also a canvas i finished for a homie and one im working on . always smoked bud but never try to draw a leaf befor .
