IF IT AINT RACKED RUSTO AND YOUR BOMBING WITH IT YOURE A CLOWN ASS TOY ... NEVER WASTE CASH ON PAINT TO BOMB WITH THATS DAY 1 SHIT . KRYLON IS DEAD ITA WATERY SHIT AND USELESS THESE DAYS ... IF YOUR DOING COMISSIONED WALLS OR CANVAS SOMETHING YOUR GETTING PAID FOR THEN BUY MONTANA OR IRONLAK ETC... OTHER THAN THAT RUSTO ALL THE WAY THEY HAVE NEW CAPS THAT ARE GOLD WITH BLACK DOTS THEY SLIGHTLY SMALLER THAN PINK DOTS , OTHERWISE TO SOLVE THE LITTLE AIR POCKET PROBLEM DEPRESSURIZE YOUR CANS BY HOLDONG THEM UPSIDE AND RELEASING SOME OF THE PROPELLENT .. BUT BEST AND ONLY CAP NESCESSITY IS NY FATS WITH A RUSTO ADAPTER . STOCK CAPS ARE GOOD TOO . REAL WRITERS CAN MAKE COLOR PLACE LOOK JUST AS GOOD AS THAT EXPENSIVE SHIT. BUT RUSTO ONLY #SEVEREVERYVICE
This is an outliner mod on a ghetto adapter, Basically all i did is theres those 4 lines on the inside of the cap that cause the clearance issue, so i took a hotknife and melted those 4 lines to the side of the cap took a min or so. By doing this theres no longer a clearance issue the cap has a wider diameter than the stock so it fits right on. It takes a few mins to do that to the caps you plan on taking out but if you lose or break you adapter n need something in a pinch its do-able
Does anyone know who the actual factory-level manufacturer of the NY Fats, Lego caps, Kilz caps, etc. is? They are all very similarly molded. I know Lindal makes most of the euro caps (their logo s obvious most of the time). And Summit makes some domestic (particularly female) caps... But not sure of who's making the smaller US style caps (or Trout's Boston caps for that matter). Thanks yall!
one of the important thing that I've realized is that when you choose a can you shouldn't spare money and buy cheap, unknown and not proven companies. It will be hard to learn with bad materials, and the quality of your work depends on the quality of them
What are some good caps you grab off random aeresol products? I can find just about all the AP female caps at any store but I've also occasionally found better ones. In a sale section at this small store I found one of the old Elmers glue cans with a Rusto fat! Unfortunatually Elmers hates us and shanged the tip so what are some free substitutes to the rusto fat, or if you know of products that still use it. I've just been using that EasyOff red dot female cap cuz it's bassically the same thing but a slightly smaller line. I also hear that some cans have started using the nyfat and ny outline again.
The Elmers Rusto fat caps work great with certain cans. I dont have any good paint stores near me so i have to use crappy hardware store cans, and the Elmers caps work great on those.
Same I only use kilz and rusto. The new caps aren't bad, I'd just rather use an NY or Boston fat over those. Hardware paints are as good or in certain cases better as many euro paints. They just have crap valves. Exept for Kilz origional, the paint is so thick that they have to use a smooth female valve. Dollar Colorplace black too. The valve is super smooth and pinkdots go 9in on those!
I have recently started to use Krylon cans more than my usual Rusto cans, and I can't figure out how to remove the caps! Anybody got any advice?
There is no point in removing those. They are removable by just pulling super hard, but it's a whole different system with pins and useless parts to throw you off. Nothing is compatable with those. I've made a few adapters for them myself but that was a long time ago and it's not really worth it for a low quality paint. You should just save those for outlining stuff and small tags.
It's ok to leave em on if you have the top to protect it from spraying while you carry it or store it. When your done painting, turn the can upside down and spray until you just have air coming out, it will stop you tip from clogging with dry paint
