You are fitting these in better now. Before starting a new one... try to take a few steps back away from it and squint. Ull see the overall composition easier and itll help you create a general shape to place your letters in. Or at least thats how I would go about it...
Ha ha... thanks! That's advice I already follow, actually, but the issue with pieces like this one is I start by deciding where I can go first. The artwork from the books I am laying my stuff to already exists. I roughly correlate that as boundaries on sticker paper, then I know what the area I can do my piece in. Later, I cut the piece out, apply the sticker, and use paint marker to help mesh it further into the book. This is my "paper vandalism" stuff, such as this one, which is from a literature text book for middle schoolers.
