fruity loops is very popular program, but i think it's wack...i hate the way it's setup. But then again, ive only ever used pirated versions of it...I like logic and Cubase, but own neither. I'm anti-DAW kind of
fruity is the shit, its simple, clean (as in, unlike reason, you can open it and using LOGIC manipulate that motherfucker), and its fucking flexible. whatever the genre, you can make it in fruity

get a drum machine or a digital drum machine get a Dr sampler or somhing like that hell i take alot of samples digitally just by croping and looking then add drums ten once i got that basic skeliton in eighter acid or cubase i just plug in my equipment and then do the synths and everything else then level it then go ack and filter certings ect... get cubase, get a korg midi drum machine called kontroll, and get some midi keyboards and youll be good midi shit is cheaper and plugs into your shit if u got midi hooks ups if not go buy a nice audiophile sound card that has midi ins along with rca's and ect ect

what are the things in this video? (at the start) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UDCDrcZK4NE they look like what sen posted, kinda interested in them. anyone want to give a little insight? EDIT: found one :http://www.zzounds.com/item--AKAMPD16 does anyone know if these are decent for a beginner, or should i try to go for a higher quality?
ya i just got 1 less than 2 days ago. I was going to get that akai one, but I was reading about it, and someone said for 100usd more you won't be sorry since you get way more features according to them. So i spent an extra 100usd on the padkontrol and I dont regret it. I just started this whole "make your own shit to listen to" type thing so here goes: Not counting my guitar or clarinet, its the only thing I ever bought to make music. its really light, feels kinda cheap, i thought it would be heavier. Very very simple to use, like u can figure out how to use it by just looking at the picture. The manual itself won't really tell you how to use it, since the way you hook it up changes depending on the program you use with it. The manual just talks about loading scenes, using it with windows etc. I use it with reason 4 and its great cuz u can you use it for a bunch of shit, not just drums. Like you can sample a part of a song, and then speed it up so it sounds like some cool type of instrument and then assign it to a key, and you can do that with all the keys. then just play until your bored. If you have an actual specific question to ask Ill try and answer it, but im new at this so I probably wont have an answer
