Yep, kit lenses can only go as fast as f/3.5. You need a faster lens. I live in the most beautiful country in the world fucking period. That wasteland with Mt Ruapehu in the background is where they film a lot of documentaries about dinosaurs and shit because it's apparently what most of the world would have looked like millions of years ago. Rugged volcanic wasteland with no trees. Last time I was here, that snowy mountain was erupting like a mad cunt, acid rain and that. Dope. eg. [Broken External Image]:http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/9079/ruapehu1995eruption.jpg And this shit is less than 2 hours out of the Auckland City, where I live.

been saving, but tryin to get a new place to live. plus most lens cost a bunch and im not really sure which i should get.
nice shots rock. AK dude! that last shot of the volcano is bad ass. if it were taller id make it my background.
Any 2.8 zoom, they cost a lot but you can find affordable ones by sigma and tokina. Have a look at the 16-50 from tokina. [Broken External Image]:http://www.bccamera.com/images/16-50mm-f2.8.gif Or yeah, as upstate said, a 35 1.8 or a 50 1.8 e series from ebay, they only got for 60$ usually.
ak i like the one where the dudes using his hand as a lens hood or whatever. dudes in nz are well dressed. should i buy a 35mm 1.8 for my d40 and start doing digital more or should i save and buy a voigtlander r3m im taking a darkroom class over the summer too
