Get a tripod, set your aperture to somewhere between f/11 and f/16. Try your shutter speed around 1/100 and do some bracketing, change it as you feel fit. Use the self timer too or when you release the shutter you'll get a bit of movement depending on your shutter speed.
Haven't got any moon shots in a while so just try out different settings, fiddle with the aperture/shutter speed. I usually shoot at a low ISO anyway if I can.

    Edit: To Sumoe

If only I got that light on the left behind him more, would have made a nice portrait, ah well.. Drinking and shooting, haha.

No, it's nice as is. The cigarette seems like the main focus, since it's the primary light. Quality.
I may be buying some Canon SLR for ten bucks tomorrow. I don't particularly want a Canon, but, hey, ten bucks.

Will do. Not even sure what model it is, but....it's fucking ten bucks.

I'm debating taking my d40 to a rob zombie show next month. Yay or nay? I'm mad worried about it getting lifted or damaged.

You could capture some pretty dope shit, haha. Die hard 1000 corpses fans.. Haven't heard of too many people getting their cameras done over but I'm always scared of damage. One of those things you just have to weigh up.
Debating if I take my d300 to a local hip-hop gig tonight, I think I'm going to take my G11 to be safe.

Yeah, getting flicks of Sheri Moon Zombie would be fucking worth it. Be a good opp to use my 70-300 too (Provided there's decent light at all)

the cool thing about this image is all the other kids and your subjects surroundings are colorful as an episode of boohbah then there's your subject with a cool smirk and a grey or olive t-shirt...brilliant capture imo

this shoot was a collaboration between a NZ fashion label and a wine company.
They hired an amazing studio for me with an array of food etc. it was so dope.
