i've been in large press rooms in tech school and at work i've even liberated a couple of cans of ink all you need is press wash solvent to thin it down press washes are usually a mix of several different type of solvents with varying boiling points but just using mineral spirits works
Yeah, I was gonna try ink and blanket wash. Cause I work in one its all readily available. And I think it could make some sick ink.
i tried thinning press ink with xylene or denatured alcohol and it didn't work. I didn't have any mineral spirits to try. I'm going to have to get some and try it out as well, since i already have the press ink. I'm thinking it will be fairly opaque until it's thinned too much, whether resistant, but not fade proof. Black would be good. Which is why i took black.
Stores, and the internet. Think about it. Shoe polish... A shoe store? Alcohols and solvents... A hardware store? Pigments... An art or chemistry hobby store? Newspaper ink is probably just basic press ink. Black is the only color worth getting, cuz the regular colors (cyan, magenta, yellow, or a spot color) will fade in the sun.
ok so i may have missed this somewhere but how do you know how much of something to add like i did the recipe with the ink and the alcohol extraction out of the pens so i have a cup of alcohol with the extract of ink in it but how much dot 3 or other stuff do i add??????
