This was the advice that was passed onto me and I'm doing it now, I'm gonna give it to you. Work on your handstyle or in a book for a few weeks, or everything will be shit, just like my first throwie which is afew posts back in this thread. It's sick your into it but maybe develop ur hands first or it will be a waste of paint
Ok thanks for the advice! But ive had the question of how does my handstyle get better? Are there any drills or practice methods? Or do i just open my black book and write anything
Something that helped me out that a few people have shared with me here is start with simple letters by copying a traditional font. Learn the letter structures and how they come together. Getting a calligraphy book might help(did for me), or print out the letters on a piece of paper and write over them. Slowly you will get a more natural feel for it then start stretching and bending and flourishing, I've been at this for about 2 years and still have so much to learn and practice. Skill comes with patience, time, and repetition. Don't stop writing, fill books and write on boxes, receipts, scrap paper with pens, sharpies, crayola markers, paint pens, whatever. just keep doing it
Hey im just another toy, but can i give some feedback? I been studying a lot and you can take it or leave it. But i think your momentum needs a little work. For example, the top line of the words(the middle part of the s, the top horizontal line of the “I” the top curve or the E, and the top horizontal line of the “R” dont flow that nicely. Maybe try imagining a fake line or curve going through those specific elements, to make it look like it flows more nicely, instead of a crooked skewered line, and that includes thickness of the letters too
This is really really good advice, i wish i saw this my first day of practice. When i googled a gothic alphabet and practiced using it, everything started making more sense
im trying to develope some throw ups, I wanted to try throwies in a style more like the green s but i found it kinda difficult to make all the letters rhe same style. Any crits would be appreciated
it's gonna come with time; cannot force it. btw your throwie is mad nice, therefore that you only write for 2 weeks
That's a good throw up. The n goes hard but the p with the character looks confusing. Keep playing with different throwup letter tops, I'm sure you'll cook some heat up.
You should make the fingers bigger. It looks like it got a big ass thumb and small fingers. You were doing it right before though. I remember how your e would look the fingers were bigger. It's a good throw otherwise.
